APRIL 11 - The New England Revolution announced on Friday that the team has signed midfielder Jason Moore, the first pick in the 1999 MLS College Draft. To obtain Moore, the Revs acquired his rights from the Chicago Fire in exchange for a fourth round selection in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft.

Moore, who turned 25 years old one week ago today, has played 79 games (60 starts) in his four-year Major League Soccer career, tallying one goal and adding 11 assists. He was originally drafted by D.C. United, which selected him with the first overall college pick in the 1999 draft. After playing 16 games his rookie season, Moore was traded to the Colorado Rapids, for whom he played for two years. He was claimed off waivers by Chicago last April.

"He's an excellent prospect," Revolution Head Coach Steve Nicol said. "It's a new start for him. It strengthens the squad because he's an excellent player."

The 5'11 Moore, who played collegiately at the University of Virginia, made his professional debut against the Revolution on April 24, 1999, when he started for D.C. in a 3-2 Revolution victory. His first MLS point came on an assist in a D.C. win over Miami less than a month later, on May 22. Last year, on July 4, Moore notched his first MLS goal in a Chicago loss to Colorado. Moore was a finalist for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy (top Division 1 college soccer player) as a sophomore in 1998. He was an All-ACC selection and an NSCAA second-team All-American that year. Moore made 10 appearances for the U.S. Under-20 National Team in 1997.

The Revolution begins the 2003 season this Sunday, April 13, against Chicago at 7:00 PM at Cardinal Stadium in Naperville, Ill. The game will air live on ATT&T3 and on tape delay at 9:00 PM on Fox Sports Net New England. The Revs' home opener is next Saturday, April 19, at 4:00 PM at Gillette Stadium. Season tickets and individual tickets for the Revolution 2003 season are now available. Season ticket prices are $240 (Category III), $340 (Category II) and $440 (Category I). Individual ticket prices are $16 (Category III), $23 (Category II) and $32 (Category I).
