Two players upgraded and become more involved in training
The New England Revolution athletic training staff released the injury report this afternoon, and after a couple of weeks of little change, we have two promising changes this week.
NE Injury Report – April 13, 2010
PROBABLE: Shalrie Joseph (R hip flexor strain)
DOUBTFUL: Nico Colaluca (L knee sprain), Edgaras Jankauskas (R calf strain)
OUT: Mauricio Castro (R ankle pain), Matt Reis (L shoulder and knee surgeries), Taylor Twellman (concussion)
Both Nico Colaluca and Edgaras Jankauskas have been upgraded from OUT to DOUBTFUL and increased participation in training earlier today. Both went through a full training session, and ultimately played as neutrals in a 6v6 game at the end of training.
Shalrie Joseph, who logged 75 minutes and recorded one assist on Saturday night in the 4-1 win against Toronto, is still listed as PROBABLE on the injury report, and is expected to cut back on his activities this week in preparation for Saturday’s game in San Jose.
Mauricio Castro continues to work inside with the athletic training staff during training, is still listed as out with ongoing ankle pain, while Taylor Twellman continues to warm-up and do passing with the team before moving off to the side to work one-on-one with the medical staff on fitness and agility exercises. Matt Reis, who has been progressing well since his off-season surgeries, has been seen out at training getting more and more active with the goalkeepers, working with them in footwork and catching drills.
The next report will come in late Friday afternoon after the team’s noon (Pacific time) training session at Buck Shaw Stadium
