Joseph is notably upgraded and trains for the first time this week while Colaluca and Jankauskas come off the list completely.
The New England Revolution athletic training staff released the Friday injury report this afternoon following the team’s final training session before Saturday’s match against Colorado. The list has three upgrades, and one new player – and two players off of it completely.
NE Injury Report – April 23, 2010
PROBABLE: Shalrie Joseph (R gastroc & hip flexor strains)
DOUBTFUL: Zak Boggs (R knee/R ankle sprains), Mauricio Castro (R ankle pain)
OUT: Emmanuel Osei (R leg laceration), Matt Reis (L shoulder & knee surgeries), Taylor Twellman (concussion)
First, two players – Nico Colaluca (L knee sprain) and Edgaras Jankauskas (R calf strain) – are off the list completely after being listed as QUESTIONABLE on Tuesday’s report. Both players went through a full week of training, and available for selection for tomorrow’s 18 against Dallas.
Second, Shalrie Joseph, who was listed as DOUBTFUL on Tuesday, has been upgraded to PROBABLE on today’s report. He was active at training today, going through the shortened session with the entire team.
Zak Boggs and Mauricio Castro have both been upgraded to DOUBTFUL after a week of training. Castro got active at every training session this week, working with the athletic trainers on agility work for his R ankle pain. Boggs suffered his knee and ankle sprains at Tuesday’s session, and was back out doing side work today with the medical staff.
Emmanuel Osei has missed all week of training with a significant laceration on his leg, which has prevented him from practicing and placed him on the injury list as OUT. Joining him are Matt Reis, who continues to do strengthening and fitness work on his shoulder, and Taylor Twellman, who is out at training most days while working on his fitness as he comes back from his head and neck injury.
