Injury Report – July 9, 2010 By Revolution Communications

Revolution heads into the weekend with a still lengthy injury list

Following Friday’s training session, the Revolution’s athletic training staff released the late week injury list. Two players have been downgraded, while one was upgraded.

NE Injury Report - July 9, 2010

PROBABLE: Darrius Barnes (R ankle/foot sprain), Shalrie Joseph (L ankle sprain)

DOUBTFUL: Steve Ralston (L elbow dislocation), Khano Smith (R ankle sprain)

OUT: Zak Boggs (concussion), Preston Burpo (R lower leg fracture), Edgaras Jankauskas (L adductor strain), Taylor Twellman (concussion), Nico Colaluca (R ankle sprain), Cory Gibbs (L quadriceps strain)

Darrius Barnes remains PROBABLE, as he trained for the full week and is likely to see his first action on Saturday since suffering his ankle injury on May 8 at Columbus. Shalrie Joseph, who came off in the 56th minute on July 2 in Salt Lake, also remains PROBABLE for the LA match. Joseph also participated fully in training this week, so look for the captain to take his normal spot in the midfield on Saturday night.

Steve Ralston, who suffered a dislocated elbow in the Cruzeiro match on June 13, remains DOUBTFUL, even though he trained at full speed this week. Khano Smith, who sprained his right ankle against Cruzeiro on June 13, has been upgraded to DOUBTFUL today, and did some light jogging on the field at training on Friday.

Zak Boggs continues to feel the effects of the concussion he picked up on June and remains OUT, while Edgaras Jankauskas continues to receive treatment and work with the athletic trainers on his injury and also remains on the OUT list. Cory Gibbs and Nico Colaluca were both downgraded to OUT on Friday with their respective injuries, as neither player participated in competitive training activities this week.
