Revolution’s injury list stays mostly the same, with one upgrade following Saturday’s win against Seattle.
Following the only full-team training session before the team heads to Los Angeles for Friday’s game against Chivas USA, the Revolution’s athletic training staff released the early-week injury list on Tuesday afternoon. The list is one of the team’s shortest in recent months, boasting only six players, including the two Revs on the season-ending injury list.
NE Injury List - September 7, 2010
PROBABLE: Cory Gibbs (L ankle sprain)
DOUBTFUL: Jason Griffiths (L hamstring strain), Edgaras Jankauskas (L adductor strain)
OUT: Zak Boggs (concussion), Preston Burpo (R leg fracture/surgery), Taylor Twellman (concussion)
Upgraded from the list was Nico Colaluca (R ankle sprain), who was among the 18 dressed players for both the SuperLiga final on Wednesday and the Seattle match on Saturday. He was listed as PROBABLE in Friday’s report and has been a full participant in training for the last week.
Cory Gibbs, who was suspended for the match following his red card on Aug. 28 against Philadelphia, took Friday off from training to help his ankle continue to recover. However, he is listed as PROBABLE this week and was back at training this week and is expected to make the trip to LA with the team.
Jason Griffiths and Edgaras Jankauskas continue to be listed as DOUBTFUL, with both doing some work with the team at the start of training before working off to the side with the medical staff for the remainder of the session.
Zak Boggs suffered a setback in his recovery from his June concussion and went from being listed as QUESTIONABLE on last Tuesday’s report to OUT on Friday’s report. Boggs was originally on Wednesday’s gameday roster for the SuperLiga final, but was a late scratch after it was submitted, and was replaced by Colaluca.
