Revs continue to get healthier as season winds to a close
Preceding the team’s afternoon training session at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, the club’s athletic training staff released the early-week injury report. Following a recent trend, more players continued to work their way up the list, with only six players remaining on the Tuesday edition.
NE Injury List - Sept. 21, 2010
PROBABLE: Khano Smith (R shoulder dislocation)
QUESTIONABLE: Edgaras Jankauskas (L adductor strain)
OUT: Zak Boggs (concussion), Preston Burpo (R leg fracture/surgery), Nico Colaluca (L MCL sprain), Taylor Twellman (concussion)
Off the list following Saturday’s game is Jason Griffiths (L hamstring strain), who made his first league appearance in four matches against the Rapids. He was listed as PROBABLE on Friday’s report as he made the two-leg trip west with the team.
Khano Smith has been upgraded to PROBABLE. The Bermudian midfielder also traveled with the team to Colorado and Dallas, and is sporting a protective brace on his shoulder to help maintain stability while he plays.
Edgaras Jankauskas continues to remain as QUESTIONABLE, but as he did not travel with the team, his status will be re-evaluated by the athletic training staff on Friday once the team is back in market. Before the Revs traveled to Colorado, Jankauskas went through the full week of training with the club back in Foxborough for the first time in several months.
Nico Colaluca has joined Zak Boggs, Preston Burpo and Taylor Twellman on the OUT list. Colaluca picked up a L MCL sprain in training on Wednesday and did not make the trip with the team. He remained back in Foxborough to receive treatment. Burpo, who was out in Colorado when the team was playing the Rapids, joined the team on the bench for the match, but was unavailable as he continues on the season-ending injury list.
